System of Engagement for monitoring and, and providing organisations with a spatial visualisation, informative dashboard for better decision making.
They work with leading organisations, delivering innovative solutions, and help organisations understand and manage their sustainability challenges. 4 Degrees Consulting taps into the increasing legislative and reputational pressure on development projects to demonstrate improvements in sustainability and environmental compliance.
4 Degrees Consulting provides comprehensive services relating to water use auditing and the water use regulation process. This includes managing the water use licencing process on behalf of an organisation, assessing compliance with license conditions and compiling and submitting licence amendment applications and where possible, advises the client on how to achieve and sustain compliance as a service. It may also include specialised monitoring such as laboratory analysis of water samples to determine the presence and/or levels of certain elements, especially if the project poses a risk of contamination of water resources.
The Challenge
4 Degrees Consulting needed to build a system of engagement to represent water and environmental monitoring data in a spatial viewer that would provide interested and affected parties access to understand the geographical context of the area and display a system of record. Sharing and collaborating of environmental monitoring data remains a huge challenge for many organisations when it comes to decision making. There are often multiple contractors (labs, environmental managers and hydrologists) that contribute to the overall reporting but are working and reporting in silos.
As a result, meaningful, accurate and easily accessible environmental data is often dispersed on different systems belong to different people in different organizations. To tackle this problem, we developed a system of engagement approach to tackle compliance risks, developing compliance monitoring and assurance mechanisms, and providing organisations with a visual, informative dashboard for better decision making.
The Solution
4 Degrees Consulting created a ArcGIS Web AppBuilder that integrated with Survey123 for conducting the Water Use Licence Audit; ArcGIS Dashboard to visualise audit results, monitor quantity and quality in real time, and inform of non-compliances and Workforce for ArcGIS to integrate and schedule processes i.e., sampling, testing, auditing, management reviews etc. In this way we are able to give our clients monthly, week or annual access to the authoritative data they need in a monitoring dashboard application.

With ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, we can organise and manage compliance with water use licence conditions, empowering organisations to make decisions and enhance productivity by allowing integration with differing monitoring systems and accessibility for multiple users.
