South African Women in GIS – Sharing Inspiring Stories is a collection of stories that showcases the lives and trials of sixteen women in the geospatial industry by revealing their personal journeys, best career practices, lessons learned, and the challenges they overcame to achieve success in their respective careers.

South African Women in GIS – Sharing Inspiring Stories aims to motivate young, up-and-coming geospatial science professionals by inspiring them to push on despite the odds and to remain focused on attaining their goals.

Esri South Africa is passionate about enhancing and improving STEM learning, and as such, supports the Lemek Foundation. The Lemek Foundation is a non-profit organisation, established to develop and empower previously disadvantaged communities. The Foundation’s mission it to create awareness in STEM learning for school going children.

The South African Women in GIS book – Sharing Inspiring Stories, aims to motivate young, up-and-coming geospatial science professionals by inspiring them to push on despite the odds and to remain focused on attaining their goals.

Proceeds from the first 100 copies of the book were donated to the Lemek Foundation in support of STEM Learning.
